Profound, Protyre & Koozai win at the Digital Experience Awards (DXA) 2018
Profound are pleased to announce the www.protyre.co.uk website has won the Gold Award for the Best User Experience (B2C) – Retail at the Digital Experience Awards 2018. Additional awards from the day included Gold for Best Digital Team Transformation and Bronze for Best Use of SEO.
Profound designed and delivered the Protyre.co.uk website relaunch in September 2017. The site was migrated from an old Umbraco platform to a modern Kentico CMS. This was used as an opportunity to update the design onto a responsive framework and restructure the site to prepare it for an aggressive SEO strategy, run by SEO agency Koozai. The new website has seen an impressive uplift in ecommerce sales and traffic (delivering a 67% revenue increase), making it a great success (read the full case study here).
The awards
Gold - Best User Experience (B2C) - Retail
We were up against a number of major brands including Octopus Energy, EE with Neslon Bostock Unlimited, Mamas & Papas and Three UK. The judges took into account the extensive research that went into Profound’s UX design for this site and the skill of the team bringing this research to life. We helped them understand how we analysed Protyre’s historic transactional data to uncover key findings about the customers, what that meant in terms of implementing the user journeys and the results to show these findings were valid.
The fantastic business outcome for the client, coupled with our presentation helped us secure the Gold Award for the category.
Gold – Best Digital Team Transformation
Digital Transformation is a challenge for any business and making sure there is a team in place to successfully manage it is key. In this category the focus was on how Profound, Micheldever and Koozai worked together in a collaborative way to not just relaunch a website, but to enable the Micheldever Marketing Team to constantly iterate and improve on traffic acquisition and conversion rate optimisation. Up against The Share Centre, Three UK, EE and Wipro Digital – Lloyds Banking Group, it was a tough crowd – thankfully team work won the day and resulted in the second Gold Award of the day.
Bronze – Best Use of SEO
Although we took a back seat during the presentation for this award, allowing the experts from Koozai to showcase all their hard work, we are still proud of the Bronze Award that came out of it for our client. Building a website isn’t just about making it look good and functioning well – the visibility of the site online is a key success factor. Working with Koozai, the Protyre.co.uk website was built in a very structured way that ticks a lot of technical SEO requirements and enables them to do ongoing enhancements and optimisation for traditional, local, mobile rankings, with considerations for natural language search and in the future voice search.
