We also truly believe in the work-life balance; and that isn’t just lip service. One of our founders Tim started his business so he could spend more time at home with his young children, and that ethos of respecting and prioritising people’s lives outside of work still matters to us. We don’t operate an always-on culture and the respect we show our team is expected in reverse with everyone honouring the commitments we make to our clients. It allows for a flexible but manageable working environment. As over 40% of our staff have been with us for more than 3 years, and the remaining 60% have joined in expansion roles, we take this as a sign we have the work-life balance right.

We believe that building better customer experiences can only be done when we can hear about different perspectives. That is why we create an inclusive and conducive working environment for all our team.
Currently we span a wide mix of ages, from 19 to 56 with a quarter of the team identifying as female. We are also a global bunch with 42% of us speaking more than one language and 56% of us living in, or coming from a multi-cultural home.
We are highly empathetic to each other’s working needs, whether it’s leaving space for the school run, helping adapt information to an appropriate format, or setting up learning sessions to share findings and new information with each other. Everyone has the power to help each other and state what they need to work in the best way possible.
Apprenticeships and graduate schemes
Apprenticeships
To be eligible for an apprenticeship you need to be over 16 and not in full time education. We offer a 15-month apprenticeship through an accredited City & Guild process. It involves working 5 days a week with one of those days dedicated for coursework, exams, and meeting with your tutor. When a position is open it will appear in the job list above to apply. “Joining Profound through the Apprenticeship scheme has been an amazing experience. I have been able to learn so much more than if I were to take a course based on a single subject since I have had the opportunity to learn about various things that we do within Profound that I wouldn't have learned about otherwise. The team at Profound have been friendly and very helpful, even if I’ve been asking questions about something simple. They have helped me learn that asking questions isn’t a bad thing and have encouraged me to learn things that I never thought I would. Having nearly completed my apprenticeship over the past 12 months and learning so much, I’m looking forward to the next steps with Profound.”
Graduates
We also take on graduates to our Engineering team through our partnership with Lincoln University to help develop tech-led industry and innovation in the area. That is why our Lincoln office is at the university. As part of our partnership, Profound offers placements to graduates of Lincoln University in our software engineering team. You must have graduated within the last 2 years from Lincoln university to be eligible. When a position is open, it will appear in the job list above to apply. We give extensive on-the-job training to all our graduates, giving them the chance to work across internal and client projects under the guidance of experienced team members.
